Department Overview
The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E’s electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.
Electric Operations Performance Improvement (EOPI) will promote change to how Electric Operations aligns and operates to become more risk-informed, fully accountable, and agile in our ability to effectively prioritize and implement improvement opportunities. Through implementation of a standard process management framework, this team will move Electric Operations towards a process ownership model and standard process architecture.
Position Summary
The Expert Electric Performancec Management Analyst will assess Electric Operations performance and identify process improvement opportunities that will advance performance through safety improvements, quality enhancements, productivity gains, and cost reductions. The candidate will be able to quantify, develop, monitor, and report on process and performance improvement activities. The individual will improve Electric Operations Continuous Improvement infrastructure and capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Support standardization of process/functional ownership framework that will enable operating model optimization effort and organizational design.
- Guide the effort to identify, analyze and improve existing business processes within a department to meet new goals and objectives.
- Conducts planning, resourcing, and control functions including schedule maintenance, commitment monitoring, status reporting, tracking from start to completion and project adherence reporting activities.
- Forecasts year-end results based on current trends, provides recommendations on improvements and corrective actions.
- Partners with cross-functional teams to support the development of performance analytics
- Collaborates with all levels across EO to gather, analyze and monitor operational results. Develops presentations displaying results and recommendations on operational performance, efficiency, and productivity. Provides insights into operational results and strategic advice to leadership as needed.
- Provides ad-hoc in-depth analysis on complex issues to provide recommendations on solutions.
- Uses analysis, best practices and benchmark comparisons to recommend and implement improvements and corrective actions.
- Support the organization to ensure consistency, cohesiveness and sharing of best practices.
- Support LSS community across PG&E to build and share best practices.
- Demonstrate a high level of business acumen.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- Job-related experience, 6 years
- Experience in analysis, job-related
Desired:
- Experience in utility operations, or related
- SAP experience
- LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
