Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:
JFCS East Bay is seeking a Birth to 8 year-old Mental Health Specialist who is passionate about providing treatment to our youngest children and their families with respect, clinical excellence, and an ongoing commitment to cultural humility.
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the specialist will use a relationship based model to provide parent-infant mental health services primarily in Oakland but throughout Alameda County. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the specialist will work closely with a child development specialist and family partner to conduct observations and therapy in the childs home, preschool, or at the JFCS East Bay offices. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Observe, assess/diagnose and treat children and families in their natural environments
Provide dyadic work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their primary caregivers
Provide some case management
Provide consultation to child care providers
Provide crisis intervention services
Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation on computerized client management system
Conduct chart reviews and auditing
Attend supervision, team meetings, and case consultations

QUALIFICATIONS:
MSW or Masters in Counseling, Registered Intern. License preferred
Minimum of two years of experience in early childhood mental health or early childhood education (waived for POC)
Experience working in diverse communities and ability to bridge cultures
Committed to culturally informed practice and a multicultural learning environment
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Must have a current drivers license and car
Must be available to work one evening per week
Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds

COMPENSATION
Compensation is dependent on experience starting at 60K.
