Works closely with the Clinical Laboratory Manager Influences and interacts with company executives Ensures the R&D laboratory operates in an efficient, agile manner with scientific and operational excellence Guides the successful completion of programs Frames problem and solution set Promotes new ideas Anticipates complex and technical problems and develops solutions early Helps design and oversee all experiments including identification of proper controls, endpoints, and analysis techniques Ensures that qualified personnel are employed with documented training and/or experience to supervise and perform the work of the laboratory.

Participates in employee training and competency programs Monitors results to ensure that reliable, accurate and precise data are generated in the laboratory Serves as a technical resource for all laboratory personnel Enhances scientific / technical knowledge through regular reviews of scientific literature Oversees all research lab activities Ensures all experiments are in alignment with company and department objectives Communicates scientific/technical content regularly and effectively with other leadership in the company Participates in the strategic planning process, ensuring goals are implemented with a project planning approach Ownership of R&D project management system and reporting to the executive team Works with Senior Leadership and Finance to ensure budget meets business needs, and that expenses are on track to targets set
