Under the general supervision of the CFO, the Sr.
Accountant is responsible for full cycle General Ledger accounting, month end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and revenue recognitions.
This position is responsible for GAAP reporting, non-payroll tax reporting and applies accounting principles and practices to the resolution of a variety of accounting functions or problems.
and responsibilities:Support the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures and financial reporting requirementsAssist with preparation of financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsAssist with establishing and maintaining accounting control proceduresMaintain fixed asset ledgers, including additions, disposals, and depreciationOwn the revenue cycle including review of contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with current and emerging accounting pronouncementsResponsible for the monthly revenue recognition journal entries, multiple-element arrangement schedules, deferred revenue reconciliations and sales cut-off analysesDevelop a thorough understanding of the Company’s existing and new products and services, revenue streams and distribution channelsPartner with Project Management and Data Science Teams in determining financial impact related to timing of new client onboarding, roll out of new products and monthly production.Analyze and investigate production and collection data to identify issues and provide recommendations to client advisory team.Lead continuous review and improvement of revenue systems and business processes.Generate production and A/R reporting for existing client base.Prepare management reports including revenue analysis and metricsReview customer arrangements and external communications for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standardsAssess, develop and update the documentation and related controls associated with the Company’s revenue policy and processes to ensure proper recording and revenue recognitionOther accounting duties as requested and/or determined:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.1-3 years of progressively responsible accounting experienceSolid knowledge of US GAAP and Revenue Recognition ConceptsSolid knowledge of accounting and financial processesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize key accounting issues to managementProficiency with QuickBooksHigh degree of familiarity with MS Office with advanced Excel skillsPivot Tables and V-lookup required.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong practical knowledge of general accounting practices and business processes
