Senior research associate-flow cytometry

Kyverna Therapeutics, Inc., head quartered in the East Bay, is an emerging company developing an innovative new class of T cell-based therapies and cures for serious autoimmune diseases.

Autoimmune diseases result from a failure of the immune system to distinguish self from non-self, caused by autoreactive B cells and T cells attacking the body’s own tissues.

Kyverna’s innovative therapeutic strategy combines advanced T cell engineering and synthetic biology technologies to eliminate and suppress autoreactive immune cells which are the root cause of these diseases.

Kyverna Therapeutics is financed by two top venture capital firms and is located in the San Francisco East Bay.

Kyverna is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the growing Immunology Group and will participate in laboratory work to develop new engineered T cell therapeutics.

The responsibilities will include genetic modification of cell lines and primary human cells, and molecular and cellular phenotyping of immune cell function.

The ideal candidate will have experience in isolation of human primary immune cells, flow cytometry, and the development and execution of in vitro functional assays.

The position level will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members is a must.

Excellent written and verbal communication and attentiveness to detailed record keeping are required.

Requirements: BS degree with 5 years of industry experience or MS degree with 2 years of industry experience.

The degree should be in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, or a related field.

Proficient in handling mammalian cell lines especially suspension cells and isolation and manipulation of human primary immune cells from blood or tissue.

Strong organizational skills and record keeping Hand-on experience with multi-color flow cytometry Experience in cellular immune assays such as ELISA, T cell activation, and proliferation assay Preferred skills: Working knowledge of molecular and cellular immunology Experience in analyzing and interpreting flow cytometry data using analytical software such as Flowjo.
