Director of Field Operations

The Early Childhood Impact Branch of the YMCA of the East Bay is seeking a Director of Field Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality programming that achieves the educational, administrative and service delivery goals and provide overall leadership to the field operations group.
  • Supervise Area Managers who in turn supervise Center Directors, who oversee Teachers, Program Assistants and Family Advocates. This position has a broad scope with about 300 employees in the unit.
  • Design and support comprehensive policies, procedures and monitoring systems in order to meet Community Care Licensing regulations, California Department of Education Funding Terms and Conditions, Child Adult Care Food Program regulations, and Head Start Performance Standards
  • Design and support professional development/ training and quality improvement initiatives in coordination with Service Area Managers that result in the achievement of desired goals and outcomes.
  • Facilitate Community Care Licensing compliance, changes, responses, inquiries, appeals, concerns, and ensure CCL changes are communicated and implemented at all centers.
  • Participate in the budget process and ensure Field Operations meets or exceeds budgets as determined by Senior Leadership.
  • Participate in the design of buildings/locations and renovations to best meet both community and operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or a closely related field
  • Seven years progressively responsible professional experience which demonstrates significant supervisory and administrative responsibilities and includes a multi-site management role in a Head Start, Early Head Start or subsidized child development program
  • Strong knowledge of theories and practices of Early Childhood Education/Development
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, interdisciplinary environment and with diverse community-based agencies
  • Thorough knowledge of licensing standards, Head Start and child-care regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement curriculum and train staff
  • Valid California Driver’s License/proof of auto insurance/annual DMV check required
  • Criminal record clearance and health requirements including physical exam, TB and immunizations
