Senior Electrical Engineer (up to Head of Hardware) Neuroscience Wearable Startup

Berkeley, CA (you can work from home up to 2x/week)

The company’s product is in the realms of neuroscience, wearable tech, and consumer electronics. They are seeking people who are passionate about making a positive impact on the cognitive health of their customers.

In this position you would be leading the Electrical Engineering of the product, and you would be spending about 30-50% of your time managing external manufacturers and contractors.

Depending on your experience, the company could hire you as their Head of Hardware.

The company will pay competitive salary (up to $200k) plus equity which they believe can be very lucrative.

Job Responsibilities:

– Leading the planning, development and management of electrical design, testing, and production

– Collaborating closely with manufacturing partners in order to ensure quality and timely production

– Overseeing the firmware testing

– Working closely with electrical and software engineering partners throughout the development process

– Working with the relevant regulatory bodies to ensure biocompatibility and safety standards

Qualifications:

– A Bachelors s Degree in Electrical Engineering

– At least 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience

– Experience throughout the manufacturing process, from small prototyping runs to pilot production line runs to bringing a hardware product to mass market

– Knowledge of the latest schematic design and board layout practices

– Understanding of schematic and PCB simulation methodologies

– Experience in C or C++ or C#

– Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in small teams

Nice to have:

– Experience with wearable or flexible electronics design and manufacturing

– Experience with NFC and Bluetooth technologies

– Experience with very low-power designs and onboard DSP
