Instruct students using various teaching methods including the use of manipulatives, audiovisual aids, demonstrations and other materials to supplement instruction, and with a minimum of lectures. Evaluate student progress and provide individual help to students to maintain satisactory progress. Collaborate with colleagues in faculty meetings and other related activities to promote academic success. Maintain attendance, progress reports and grade records as required by computer. Complete and submit all required data and accountability documentation in a timely manner.QUALIFICATIONS: Valid, non emergency California teaching credential authorizing instruction to adults in the subject area (Community College credential is not acceptable). A minimum of a BA degree in Science or a related field. A minimum of two years experience working with adults or high school learners. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated knowledge and ability developing and presenting lessons that include a variety of innovative communicative activities are essential. Ability to integrate technology into instruction a plus. Demonstrated ability to maintain adequate attendance is required, and if enrollment decreases, class may be cancelled. Essential for applicant to be nuturing, motivated and skillful in inspiring confidence. Demonstrated ability to be accurate and timely in submitting required paperwork to the school office. Ability to work with teachers, staff and the administration in a collaborative, productive, and supportive manner. All applicants should prepare and submit a model lesson plan for this subject at the interview. A demonstration lesson may be part of the interview process.
