Computer Programmer/Statistician
DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION:
The Process Analysis & Optimization group within the Technology Development Solution – Product Supply Biotech department provides advanced data analytics and modeling solutions to divisional partners.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform data mining, statistical analysis and modeling of drugs process parameters and quality attributes, including correlation analysis and specification setting.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect data from various data sources (e.g. analytical instruments, process historian, relational databases)
- Develop scripts and workflows for data pre-processing (e.g. data mapping, alignment, filtering)
- Perform exploratory statistical analysis (e.g. Distribution analysis, Process capability analysis, t-test, equivalence test, etc.)
- Develop and evaluate statistical models using established methods (e.g. ANOVA, ANCOVA, etc.)
- Conduct literature search on advanced statistical methods
- Communicate with stakeholders to clarify scope, gather information, and solicit feedback on intermediate and final results.
- Support documenting statistical analyses/models in technical reports
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES: Education Requirement(s):
- Ph.D.in Engineering or Science with 0-2 years of experience; OR
- M.S.in Engineering or Science with 2-4 years of relevant experience;
Skill & Competency Requirements:
- Strong coding skills in at least one language (e.g. MATLAB, R, Python)
- Hands on experience in JMP (statistical analysis package)
- Experience in developing, evaluating and applying statistical methods to solve real-world problems
- Ability to independently develop and implement technical solutions for complex problems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferences:
- Background or interest in Life Sciences
- Working knowledge of KNIME software
- Experience in drug specification setting
