Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated DevOps engineer to join our exceptional team. The candidate we are looking for is ready to design, build, automate, and support our internal build and test systems. The ideal candidate would have some experience with automation tools and processes, and familiarity with operating and supporting networking solutions.
Impact:
Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure to enable reliable and rapid deployment of services for developer use with effective monitoring and resilient operations
Work closely with the dev team to speed up development build/test workflows
Build out frameworks for test automation at scale
Work with development teams to make sure applications are production-ready, scalable, and reliable from the ground up
Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for code deployment, management, and visibility of application services
Develop tools to automate operational tasks (e.g.,deployment of machines, services, and applications)
Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at massive scale
Establish end-to-end monitoring and alerting on all critical components of the application
Represent DevOps in design reviews and work with Engineering teams on automation tasks
Experience:
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
Strong experience with Linux and expertise in scripting languages like Python and Bash
Passion for automation
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
Familiarity with build systems such as Make
Familiarity with test frameworks such as pytest
Experience with container-based solutions such as Docker
Experience in AWS or GCP cloud computing and its related services
Familiarity with application/microservices security
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to collaborate and rally support
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
Passionate to learn, understand, and dissect new technology stacks quickly and independently
Desirable:
Expertise with configuration management frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform
Experience with declarative build systems such as bazel
Experience working with third-party REST APIs
Experience with datastores such as etcd and MongoDB
Experience deploying monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, collectd, and Zabbix
Familiarity with networking such as switching, routing, SDN, and NFV
Familiarity with server & network virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed systems, and security
